According to Loews’ website, “the company is thoroughly committed to reducing its environmental impact by actively participating in standards that are in harmony with the earth’s natural resources and direction.” Loews Hotels has partnered with Energy Star in addition to enacting a comprehensive eco-friendly policy across its 18 properties.

Some of the company’s “green” practices include:

Famous quotes containing the words green, energy and/or policy:

    There was an old man lived out in the wood,
    His trade was a-cutting of Broom, green Broom;
    He had but one son without thrift, without good,
    Who lay in his bed till ‘twas noon, bright noon.
    Unknown. Broom, Green Broom (l. 1–4)

    Because humans are not alone in exhibiting such behavior—bees stockpile royal jelly, birds feather their nests, mice shred paper—it’s possible that a pregnant woman who scrubs her house from floor to ceiling [just before her baby is born] is responding to a biological imperative . . . . Of course there are those who believe that . . . the burst of energy that propels a pregnant woman to clean her house is a perfectly natural response to their mother’s impending visit.
    Mary Arrigo (20th century)

    A policy is a temporary creed liable to be changed, but while it holds good it has got to be pursued with apostolic zeal.
    Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869–1948)
