Students' Union
Students at the university are represented by the Liverpool Hope Students' Union. Although there are several campus sites for the university, the Students' Union offices are located in the Alexander Jones Building at the Hope Park Campus.
In 2011 the Students' Union underwent a major Governance re-structure both to comply with Charity Law and become a more engaging organisation. The new Constitution was passed by the University Governing Council on 22 November 2011.
The union is affiliated to the National Union of Students and sends two delegates to National Conference each year. In 2012 Liverpool Hope Students' Union was named by the National Union of Students as the ‘Small Students’ Union of the Year’ in the 2012 NUS Awards.
Students can represent themselves through the three Union Forums and also elect 17 Student and 4 Liberation Officers to specific positions. The main representatives are the three Sabbatical Officers who are also full-time paid staff members of the Union. The election process is normally contested in March/April, with successful candidates assuming office in July.

Famous quotes containing the word union:
“If the Union is now dissolved it does not prove that the experiment of popular government is a failure.... But the experiment of uniting free states and slaveholding states in one nation is, perhaps, a failure.... There probably is an irrepressible conflict between freedom and slavery. It may as well be admitted, and our new relations may as be formed with that as an admitted fact.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
