Liver X Receptor - Target Genes

Target Genes

Target genes of LXRs are involved in cholesterol and lipid metabolism regulation, including:

  • ABC - ATP Binding Cassette transporter isoforms A1, G1, G5, and G8
  • ApoE - Apolipoprotein E
  • CETP - CholEsterylester Transfer Protein
  • FAS - Fatty Acid Synthase
  • CYP7A1 - CYtochrome P450 isoform 7A1 - cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase
  • LPL - LipoProtein Lipase
  • LXR-α - Liver X Receptor-α (a somewhat unusual example of receptor up-regulating its own expression)
  • SREBP-1c - Sterol Regulatory Element Binding Protein 1c
  • ChREBP - Carbohydrate Regulatory Element Binding Protein

Famous quotes containing the words target and/or genes:

Well gentlemen, this is it. This is what we’ve been waiting for. Tonight your target is Tokyo. And you’re gonna play ‘em the Star Spangled Banner with two-ton bombs. All you’ve got to do is to remember what you’ve learned and follow your squadron leaders. They’ll get you in, and they’ll get you out. Any questions? All right that’s all. Good luck to you. Give ‘em hell.
    Dudley Nichols (1895–1960)

Whether you want it or not,
your genes have a political past,
    your skin a political tone.
    your eyes a political color.
    ...
    you walk with political steps
    on political ground.
    Wislawa Szymborska (b. 1923)
