Little Lulu - Theatrical Shorts

Theatrical Shorts

In the mid-1940s, Lulu appeared in a series of theatrical animated shorts produced by Famous Studios for Paramount Pictures from 1943 to 1948, which replaced the Superman shorts of the 1940s. In all, 26 Little Lulu cartoons were released in a period of less than five years. A similar character, Little Audrey, was then created after Paramount failed to renew the Lulu license (and therefore avoided the payment of royalty fees). The voice of Little Lulu was performed by Cecil Roy and Tubby was Arnold Stang.

The theme song for the shorts was written by Buddy Kaye, Fred Wise, and Sidney Lippman.

Famous quotes containing the words theatrical and/or shorts:

January, month of empty pockets!... Let us endure this evil month, anxious as a theatrical producer’s forehead.
    Colette [Sidonie Gabrielle Colette] (1873–1954)

The world is never the same as it was.... And that’s as it should be. Every generation has the obligation to make the preceding generation irrelevant. It happens in little ways: no longer knowing the names of bands or even recognizing their sounds of music; no longer implicitly understanding life’s rules: wearing plaid Bermuda shorts to the grocery and not giving it another thought.
    Jim Shahin (20th century)
