The Brittas Children
Gordon and Helen have many children; but the number of them is a mystery. In "Laying The Foundations", 3 boys are seen playing cricket in the back garden, although one is later revealed to be from next door. It is mentioned that they have 3 boys, but only Helen's from a previous relationship. The youngest of these boys is called "Tom", and the eldest is called "Jonathan", who provides Helen with drugs.
In series 5, Helen believes she is pregnant again, although this is proved false.
At the end of series 2, Helen discovers she is pregnant with twins, and at the end of series 3, she gives birth to two boys, of Whitbury High Street. In "The Christening", it is revealed those boys were named "Mark" and "Matthew".
In series 5, however, Helen mentions they have six children. In "The Curse Of The Tiger Woman", Gordon corrects Helen by stating that they have 4 children and not 3, and in series 4, Helen mentions they have got 4 children.

Famous quotes containing the word children:
“[Convey to your child] that you understand how hard it can be to lose a friend, that under the circumstances feeling sad, angry, hurt or rejected is perfectly normal, that the friendship had some good things and some bad things to it and that neither aspect should be overlooked. . . . Children should be helped to realize that in time theyll find other friendsbut they mustnt expect a new friend to replace a former one.”
