• Fables of the Green Forest 1970s (1973) Fables of the Green Forest, shown in South Africa is an anime adaptation based on a series of books published in the 1910s and 1920s by Thornton W. Burgess which ran on the Japanese network Fuji TV from 7 January 1973 – 30 December 1973. It consists of 52 episodes and was created by the animation studio Zuiyo Eizo (the predecessor to Nippon Animation).
• The Facts of Life (TV series) 1980s (1979–1988) The Facts of Life, shown in South Africa was an American sitcom that originally ran on the NBC television network from 24 August 1979 to 10 September 1988. A spin-off of the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, the series' original premise focused on the character, Edna Garrett (Charlotte Rae), as she becomes housemother (and later, dietitian as well) to seven girls at the fictional Eastland School, a prestigious all-girls boarding school in Peekskill, New York.

The sitcom reflected the move in the United States from the cultural liberalism of the 1960s and 1970s to the conservatism of the 1980s. This was particularly expressed through the relationship between Young Republican Alex P. Keaton (Michael J.
