The driver was taken to hospital, reportedly with minor hand injuries. The West Coast Main Line was closed through Bletchley due to the overhead line damage, with no services running south of Milton Keynes. | |

Three people were injured, but none seriously. It was thought the barrier arm came down on the lorry. The driver of the hay lorry was arrested. 175002 returned to service seven months later in July 2012. | |

A reduced service operated on the line for a day, with trains terminating at Harlech and Porthmadog. The coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
