James DiGiovanni walked from the Atlantic Ocean at Coney Island in his hometown of New York City to the Pacific Ocean at Pacific Beach in San Diego. He left on May 12, 2012 and reached the pacific ocean 154 days later on October 12, 2012. Leaving all but a cart of supplies behind, he is relied on the kindness of strangers to make his way across America and experience all it has to offer. Supporters created a website, James Is Walking, with links to a map with GPS tracking and a Facebook page in which he writes about his trip.
