Dean Karnazes
Ultra marathon runner, Dean Karnazes, ran from Disneyland to New York in 2011 over the course of 75 days. His journey was to raise awareness about child obesity and to motivate kids to be active. He covered over 3,000 miles and ran between 40 and 50 miles each day. The run was widely publicized on ABC's Live! with Regis and Kelly, the studio in which he ended his run. He staged multiple 5k races with kids along the way to encourage people to come out and run with him.
