As part of the Sixth Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies which commenced in 2011, the Boundary Commission for England has proposed redrawing the parliamentary map for Somerset and the former Avon council area as follows. The combined region contains electoral wards from Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

- Kingswood and Keynsham
- Somerton and Frome
- South Gloucestershire East
- South Gloucestershire West
- Taunton
- Wells and North East Somerset
- Yeovil
For the combined region of Bristol, and North Somerset, the proposals are as follows.

- Bristol South
- Bristol West
- North Somerset
- Weston-super-Mare
