Avalanche (Dominic Petros) is a mutant supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, the character first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #141 (January 1981). Avalanche possesses the ability to generate powerful seismic waves from his hands, and has been a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants and Freedom Force.
