104 segments were made. They aired in blocks of 4 segments from 11 February 1999 to 2 November 2000 at irregular intervals. Then, on November 22, 2001, with the release of Maisy's Farm, four more segments were made (which can only be seen on Maisy's Farm), bringing the total to 108 segments. Each episode's opening title sequence features Maisy painting a picture, which is later revealed to be something relevant to the story, although it may not actually appear in the story itself. However, this excludes the season segments on Maisy's Farm.
