Aunt Martha arranges for Beaver to attend a prep school in New England. Beaver, however, realizes he will miss his friends as they enter high school next year. He tries to find a way of telling Aunt Martha without hurting her feelings.

Wally decides to join Ward's alma mater, State University. He also considers joining his father's old fraternity. As time goes on, both Eddie and Wally think twice when they hear rumors about it being the worst fraternity at the college; however, Ward has already sent his letter of recommendation for them both.

Eddie's girlfriend, Cindy Andrews, plans to give Eddie a sweater she is knitting for his birthday gift. She uses Wally as a model, but the fact that Wally is spending so much time at Cindy's arouses the suspicions of Eddie, Julie, Beaver and his parents.

Beaver has to write a book report on the Three Musketeers, but he has put it off for so long that he is unlikely to have it finished in time. He decides to watch the movie version of the story and write his report on that instead.

Ward receives two tickets to a baseball game, and is faced with the task of having to choose between taking Wally or the Beaver. Beaver lets him off the hook when he announces he has made plans with Gilbert. Beaver's plans fall through, however, but not before Wally has agreed to go to the game with his father. Beaver is sure he got the short stick because he is the youngest.

A girl asks Beaver to accompany her to the dance. He accepts, but then wants to back out when he is asked by a second girl. Eddie steps in with some of his worldly advice.

Eddie spreads the word that he plans to spend his summer vacation on a fishing boat in Alaska. Wally and Lumpy consider doing the same, only to get a dose of reality when they realize what kind of conditions they would be living in.

It's the final week before junior high-school graduation, and Beaver skips class with Gilbert. The next day, Beaver becomes sure he won't graduate after he and Gilbert discover the diplomas on Mrs. Rayburn's desk, minus Beaver's.

Lumpy plays a practical joke on Wally and Eddie. To get their revenge, Wally and Eddie chain the axle of Lumpy's car to a tree. The joke goes wrong, however, when the wheels of the car are ripped away from the chassis. Wally gets the blame from Fred Rutherford because the chain had Ward's name printed on it.

Ward and June are wary of letting Wally attend an all-night party. Wally's date has the same problem, which leads to her inviting Wally to meet her parents to put their minds at rest.

The episode begins with June finding an old family scrapbook while housecleaning. She gathers the family together in the living room to glance through the book. Brief highlights from the series are replayed as the Cleavers reminisce over old photographs. Ken Osmond as Eddie Haskell, Rusty Stevens as Larry Mondello, Madge Blake as Mrs. Mondello, Pamela Baird as Mary Ellen Rogers, and Sue Randall as Miss Landers are seen in flashbacks from several episodes including "Beaver Gets 'Spelled", "New Neighbors", "My Brother's Girl", "The Shave", "Beaver Runs Away", "Larry Hides Out", "Teacher Comes to Dinner", and "Wally's Election". The episode ends with the teenage Cleaver boys playing with a wind-up toy and laughing like children. It is in the final episode that the viewer learns how Beaver got his nickname.
