Barry Evans is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Shaun Williamson. He appears between 1994 and 2004. The character is portrayed as a "buffoon." Williamson controversially left the serial after ten years in 2003 after executive producer Louise Berridge refused to allow him time off to star in a seasonal pantomime. Barry is killed off in an episode that first aired early in January 2004.
