Giedi Prime, later Gammu, is a planet of Ophiuchi B (36) and the homeworld of the vicious House Harkonnen, sworn enemies of House Atreides. It is "A median-viable planet with a low active-photosynthesis range;" bleak and dark, it is heavily industrialized and its people are very oppressed. By the time of Heretics of Dune, its name has been changed to "Gammu" by Gurney Halleck.
