• June 14, A tornado hits Sainte-Rose, Quebec. Six people die and 26 are injured. Listed as the 9th deadliest tornado in Canadian history.
• June 29, A tornado touched down in London, Ontario, destroying barns and orchards.

1898

• September 26, A tornado hits Merritton, Ontario, killing 5 and injuring dozens of others. It left a 72 kilometer path of destruction from St. Catharines, Ontario to Tonawanda, New York.
