List of AC Transit Routes - School Service

School Service

A series of school-day only routes serve a variety of public and private middle, junior high, and high schools in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Many of these routes provide connections to/from BART stations. While these lines are open to all riders at regular fares, they do not operate during school breaks and holidays. Some regular local bus routes also provide supplemental school service to nearby schools. These routes are usually timed to match the morning and afternoon bell schedules of all schools served.

There are 63 school routes numbered between 600 and 699: 604, 605, 606, 607, 609, 611, 614, 618, 619, 620, 621, 623, 624, 625, 626, 627, 628, 629, 631, 634, 638, 640, 641, 642, 643, 645, 646, 648, 649, 650, 651, 652, 653, 654, 655, 657, 658, 660, 662, 663, 665, 667, 668, 669, 670, 671, 672, 673, 674, 675, 676, 677, 679, 680, 681, 682, 683, 684, 685, 686, 688, 689, and 696. Famous quotes containing the words school and/or service:

Nevertheless, no school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children’s best interests. Parents have every right to understand what is happening to their children at school, and teachers have the responsibility to share that information without prejudicial judgment.... Such communication, which can only be in a child’s interest, is not possible without mutual trust between parent and teacher.
    Dorothy H. Cohen (20th century)

In the early forties and fifties almost everybody “had about enough to live on,” and young ladies dressed well on a hundred dollars a year. The daughters of the richest man in Boston were dressed with scrupulous plainness, and the wife and mother owned one brocade, which did service for several years. Display was considered vulgar. Now, alas! only Queen Victoria dares to go shabby.
    M. E. W. Sherwood (1826–1903)
