Linus Van Pelt

Linus van Pelt is a character in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip Peanuts. The best friend of Charlie Brown, Linus is also the younger brother of Lucy van Pelt and older brother of Rerun van Pelt. He first appeared on September 19, 1952; however, he was not mentioned by name until three days later. He was first referenced two months earlier, on July 14. His younger brother, Stephen, voiced Linus from 1971 until 1975. Various actors (among them Jeremy Miller of Growing Pains fame) have played Linus since then. He was played by Colton Haynes in FunnyOrDie's "Charlie Brown: Blockhead's Revenge. In the 2011 FOX special, "Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown," he was voiced by Austin Lux.

Famous quotes containing the words van and/or pelt:

The three main medieval points of view regarding universals are designated by historians as realism, conceptualism, and nominalism. Essentially these same three doctrines reappear in twentieth-century surveys of the philosophy of mathematics under the new names logicism, intuitionism, and formalism.
—Willard Van Orman Quine (b. 1908)

I can turn from that slow embrace
    to worship mortal, the summoned
god who has speech, who has wit
to wreathe all words, who laughs
wrapped in sad pelt and without hope of heaven....
    Denise Levertov (b. 1923)
