Li'l Abner (musical) - Film

Film

A film based on the stage musical was made by Paramount and released in 1959, with most of the Broadway cast reprising their roles. The film was shot to resemble a stage set, with the buildings and surroundings in two-dimensions, giving the sense of a "proscenium dividing audience and performer".

Famous quotes containing the word film:

    A film is a petrified fountain of thought.
    Jean Cocteau (1889–1963)

    Lay not that flattering unction to your soul,
    That not your trespass but my madness speaks;
    It will but skin and film the ulcerous place,
    Whilst rank corruption, mining all within,
    Infects unseen.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    Perhaps our eyes are merely a blank film which is taken from us after our deaths to be developed elsewhere and screened as our life story in some infernal cinema or despatched as microfilm into the sidereal void.
    Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
