Famous quotes containing the words light, machine and/or gun:

A light he was to no one but himself.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

But it is found that the machine unmans the user. What he gains in making cloth, he loses in general power. There should be a temperance in making cloth, as well as in eating.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The ball at one-fourth mile passed through the largest rails; at one-half mile almost the same.... I think it an excellent arm.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
