Liberal Catholic Church International

The Liberal Catholic Church International (LCCI) is a Christian church with headquarters based in the United States. The Church traces its founding to Jesus and the Twelve Apostles and sees the Bishops of the Church as the successors of the Apostles. While it derives its Apostolic Succession from the Old Catholic Church, the LCCI is today not in full communion with either the Utrecht Union, or the Roman Catholic Church, and differs with them theologically in several important respects.

As of 2008, the LCCI has parishes in Africa, North America, Australia, and Europe.

Famous quotes containing the words liberal, catholic and/or church:

If a liberal policy towards the late Rebels is adopted, the ultra Republicans are opposed to it; if the colored people are honored, the extremists of the other wing cry out against it. I suspect I am right in both cases.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Carlyle is not a seer, but a brave looker-on and reviewer; not the most free and catholic observer of men and events, for they are likely to find him preoccupied, but unexpectedly free and catholic when they fall within the focus of his lens.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

What if the Church and the State
Are the mob that howls at the door!
Wine shall run thick to the end,
    Bread taste sour.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
