Early Years Through College

Holt graduated from Cordova High School, Rancho Cordova, California, in 1977, and holds a degree in government from California State University in Sacramento. In 2012 Holt told American Profile newsmagazine "My first on-air job was actually as a disc jockey at a Country and Western station. Famous quotes containing the words early, years and/or college:

A two-year-old can be taught to curb his aggressions completely if the parents employ strong enough methods, but the achievement of such control at an early age may be bought at a price which few parents today would be willing to pay. The slow education for control demands much more parental time and patience at the beginning, but the child who learns control in this way will be the child who acquires healthy self-discipline later.
    Selma H. Fraiberg (20th century)

The years like great black oxen tread the world,
And God the herdsman treads them on behind,
And I am broken by their passing feet.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

Love begins like a triolet and ends like a college yell.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)
