Current Format
Currently the senior football competition, the Leiria District Football Championships, is split in two divisions: Division of Honor (Divisão de Honra) and First Division North/South (Primeira Divisão Norte/Sul).
The Division of Honor champion is promoted to the Third Division, and from this division if one of the relegated clubs belongs to the AF Leiria, it is relegated to the Leiria District Football Championships.
The last four of the Division of Honor are relegated to the First Division North/South. The first and second places of each of First Division zones gives promotion to the Division of Honor.
