Leicester Pro Wrestling

Live Professional Wrestling (LPW), formerly Leicester Pro Wrestling, is a British professional wrestling promotion based in the Midlands and running shows in Leicestershire and Birmingham. The promotion was originally a collaboration between MPW co-promoter Mike Andrew and NBW promoter Gerry Norton (carried over from the MPW/NBW relationship which saw the NBW British Ironman Championship defended in both promotions, and highlighted by the mix of MPW and NBW talent on early LPW shows), but this relationship was ended sometime in mid-2006 and Andrew began promoting LPW shows with Mark Brownhill. In 2008 Mike Andrews retired and passed the company onto Mark Brownhill.

Famous quotes containing the words pro and/or wrestling:

The upbeat lawyer/negotiator of preadolescence has become a real pro by now—cynical, shrewd, a tough cookie. You’re constantly embroiled in a match of wits. You’re exhausted.
    Ron Taffel (20th century)

There are people who think that wrestling is an ignoble sport. Wrestling is not sport, it is a spectacle, and it is no more ignoble to attend a wrestled performance of suffering than a performance of the sorrows of Arnolphe or Andromaque.
    Roland Barthes (1915–1980)
