2012 Fire
On March 16 2012, Vernon Fire Department and other fire units from around the area were forced to report to Legends Resort & Country Club at approximately 8PM that night. The fire destroyed a few balconies on one side of the hotel. Fire units were forced to break open the door to the hotel since it was locked. It was reported that 35 people were inside at that time and were forced to evacuate. That night, fire units discovered the body of a man in a room on the 5th floor of the building. It is reported that the body had nothing to do with the fire and had been there for quit some time. Do due the large size of the building, and very little activity, the almost abandoned hotel is a mystery for many. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
