One must be at least 18 years old to buy and use airsoft firearms. Minors (under the age of 18) can practice targetshooting under supervision by the legal guardian of the minor. In order to possess a CO₂, air or spring operated firearm without a license, the impact energy of a projectile fired at a distance of four meters (from the muzzle) must be less than ten joules. If it is semi or fully automatic, the impact energy must be less than three joules.

To import a weapon using propellant other than Air or CO₂ you require a permit obtained from the Police, which is valid for the import of a specific weapon of a specific amount.
