Famous quotes containing the words leave and/or chance:
“Pious Selinda goes to prayers,
If I but ask the favour;
And yet the tender fools in tears,
When she believes Ill leave her.
Would I were free from this restraint,
Or else had hopes to win her;
Would she would make of me a saint,
Or I of her a sinner.”
—William Congreve (16701729)
“Chance gives rise to thoughts, and chance removes them; no art can keep or acquire them.”
—Blaise Pascal (16231662)
