Lead or Leave (also known as Lead... or Leave) was an American grassroots political action group from 1992 to 1995 focused primarily on reducing the deficit. Led by Rob Nelson and Jonathan Cowan, it focused on recruiting young members. This "mini-movement" became so prominent, it was featured in several newsweeklies and papers and created a stir in "MTV-DC" during the Clinton era.
Famous quotes containing the words lead and/or leave:
“Were you to converse with a king, you ought to be as easy and unembarrassed as with your own valet-de chambre; but yet every look, word, and action should imply the utmost respect.... You must wait till you are spoken to; you must receive, not give, the subject of conversation, and you must even take care that the given subject of such conversation do not lead you into any impropriety.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
“O power of fantasy that steals our minds from things outside, to leave us unaware, although a thousand trumpets may blow loudwhat stirs you if the senses show you nothing? Light stirs you, formed in Heaven, by itself, or by His will Who sends it down to us.”
—Dante Alighieri (12651321)
