- 1986: Janet Dale and Fiona Shaw were nominated, losing to Paul Jesson.
- 1987: Diane Bull and Sheila Reid were nominated, losing to Michael Bryant.
- 1988: Eileen Atkins won for Cymbeline, The Winter's Tale and Mountain Language, also nominated were Rudi Davies and Serena Evans.
- 1989/90: Linda Kerr and Zoe Wanamaker were nominated, losing to Michael Bryant.
