Laser (debit Card) - Use

Use

Laser is primarily an electronic point of sale debit card, but can also be used by telephone and internet, at ATMs and to pay regular bills by direct debit.

When purchasing goods or services with a Laser Card up to €100 Cashback can be given to cardholders and this value is simply added to the purchase price. Some retailers set a lower maximum Cashback value, depending on what cash is available to them in the till or on their own policy. Many Irish businesses that operate online accept Laser Cards (see below).

All Laser cards issued from 1 January 2008 were ‘co-branded’ with an international payment card scheme (i.e., MasterCard, under the ‘Maestro’ brand). While it is possible for any bank in the Single Euro Payments Area, regardless of location, to join the Laser Card scheme, there does not appear to be any interest in joining from banks outside Ireland.

Famous quotes containing the word use:

... it is use, and use alone, which leads one of us, tolerably trained to recognize any criterion of grace or any sense of the fitness of things, to tolerate ... the styles of dress to which we are more or less conforming every day of our lives. Fifty years hence they will seem to us as uncultivated as the nose-rings of the Hottentot seem today.
    Elizabeth Stuart Phelps (1844–1911)
