Lakota Local School District (Butler County)
Lakota Local Schools is a public school district serving students from West Chester and Liberty Townships in Butler County, and numerous municipalities in suburban Cincinnati. Serving nearly 18,500 students, it is the largest school district in Butler County, third largest in southwestern Ohio and the seventh largest in the U.S. state of Ohio. It operates four early childhood (PK-1) schools, ten elementary schools, four middle schools and four secondary schools.
Lakota was rated 'Excellent with Distinction' in the most recent Ohio Department of Education report card (2010-11), ranking in the top 7% of school districts statewide. They met 26 of 26 state indicators and had a graduation rate of over 95%. It is the largest school district in the state to earn the 'Excellent' designation.
The current superintendent is Dr. Karen Mantia.
