Syndicated programming on KXII-DT2 includes Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures, Cold Case, Everybody Hates Chris, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, King of the Hill, My Name is Earl, The New Adventures of Old Christine, The Office and Whaddyado?; in addition, it airs Dallas Mavericks NBA games and Big 12 Conference college games.
The subchannel also serves as a backup CBS affiliate, carrying CBS network programming normally seen on the main channel during breaking news and severe weather emergencies; the subchannel also simulcasts severe weather coverage from the main channel when wall-to-wall coverage is warranted. CBS programming moved to KXII-DT2 from the main channel is broadcast in standard definition only due to the subchannel's aspect ratio and video resolution.
