Political Career
Kuldeep ]'. In the dominated political environment of Haryana, Bhajan Lal was the lone Non-Jat face for decades and it was under his tenure as the HPCC president that Congress came into power in Haryana after 10 years. But he was later denied the Chief Ministerial post by the Congress high command in order to protect its Jat vote bank and made a rookie Hooda as the Chief Minister which made Bhajan Lal and his son kuldeep Bishnoi feel being cheated. Then Kuldeep decided to launch his own political party with the blessing of his father and hence the later became the new face of the in Haryana. Initially he made astounding grounds in the political field. Masses were evident where ever he went and people accepted him with great zeal and enthusiasm. He raised many social issues like the wrong land acquiring policies of the state government and the widespread corruption under the new C.M . Then came the long awaited Assembly elections in the state in Oct 2009. Kuldeep fielded his candidates in 89 constituencies out of the total 90. He managed to win 6 seats. Then came a hiccup for Kuldeep Bishnoi in first week of Nov 2009 when his negotiation talks with Congress party failed and 5 out of 6 legislators of his party were lured by the Congress party in their fold in return of the ministerial posts. Those who won on HJC ticket in 2009 and left the party to join ruling congress were: Satpal Sangwan from Dadri, Rao Narender Singh from Narnaul, Pandit Zile Ram from Assandh, Dharam Singh Chhokkar from Samalkha and Vinod Bhayana from Hansi. A case is filed in Punjab and Haryana high court against these MLAs under anti defection law. Both HJC and INLD have been demanding a dismissal of these MLAs as they changed the folds for power. It is however the fact that none of these MLAs got any post or ministerial berth in the ruling government despite being promised by the Chief Minister B.S Hooda in return for changing their loyalty one year ago.
Kuldeep was left alone in the party. Kuldeep however showed strong commitment to stay aflot with the party and not to join Congress and has succeed also to some extent. Now he has won the Bye election of Hisar parliamentary constituency.
