Apart from the Krishnanagar municipality and Nabadwip municipality, the subdivision contains six census towns and rural areas of 77 gram panchayats under seven community development blocks: Kaliganj, Nakashipara, Chapra, Krishnanagar–I, Krishnanagar–II, Nabadwip and Krishnaganj. The six census towns are: Jagadanandapur, Kshidirpur, Baruihuda, Bablari Dewanganj, Char Maijdia and Char Brahmanagar.
