In April 2010, KREM and KSKN began broadcasting its local newscasts in 16:9 enhanced definition widescreen, which KREM becomes the third station in Spokane to switch in either HD or widescreen. Also, KREM still holds a monopoly on midday newscasts in the Spokane area.
