Korean Armour - Joseon Dynasty Armour

Joseon Dynasty Armour

Armour from the Joseon dynasty consisted of a heavy canvas coat with iron plates on the inside. The iron plates held together by iron studs that were visible on the outside.

Two notable types were "dujeong-gap"(두정갑) and "durumagi"(두루마기). Both bore similar resemblance, except for the fact that the durumagi had additional scale armour.

Famous quotes containing the word armour:

Seven to eleven is a huge chunk of life, full of dulling and forgetting. It is fabled that we slowly lose the gift of speech with animals, that birds no longer visit our windowsills to converse. As our eyes grow accustomed to sight they armour themselves against wonder.
    Leonard Cohen (b. 1934)
