Famous quotes containing the word motion:
“till disproportiond sin
Jarrd against natures chime, and with harsh din
Broke the fair musick that all creatures made
To their great Lord, whose love their motion swayd
In perfect Diapason, whilst they stood
In first obedience, and their state of good.”
—John Milton (16081674)
“When desire, having rejected reason and overpowered judgment which leads to right, is set in the direction of the pleasure which beauty can inspire, and when again under the influence of its kindred desires it is moved with violent motion towards the beauty of corporeal forms, it acquires a surname from this very violent motion, and is called love.”
—Socrates (469399 B.C.)
“A movement is only composed of people moving. To feel its warmth and motion around us is the end as well as the means.”
—Gloria Steinem (b. 1934)
