Kiryat Menachem - Ganim Community Council

Ganim Community Council

Ganim Community Council serves the Kiryat Menachem, Ir Ganim and Givat Massuah neighborhoods.

The Community Council was established in the 1980s as part of the organization of Community Council throughout the city. The Community Council is administered by publicly elected leaders who serve as mediators between the community and the authorities. Ganim Community Council provides services in the areas of education, social services and leisure to a mixed population of various ages.

The vision of Gamin Community Council is to transform the neighborhoods served by the council into places that are pleasant to live in; to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods and to provide for the social needs of the local residents; to enable residents of different backgrounds to live together in harmony; and to build a community that is supportive, caring and involved.

Once a year the neighborhoods' residents and organizations, led by the Community Council, hold a "Neighborhood festival" to celebrate the good works of the many organizations and increase the residents' sense of belonging to a caring community.

Famous quotes containing the words community and/or council:

As in political revolutions, so in paradigm choice—there is no standard higher than the assent of the relevant community. To discover how scientific revolutions are effected, we shall therefore have to examine not only the impact of nature and of logic, but also the techniques of persuasive argumentation effective within the quite special groups that constitute the community of scientists.
    Thomas S. Kuhn (b. 1922)

I haven’t seen so much tippy-toeing around since the last time I went to the ballet. When members of the arts community were asked this week about one of their biggest benefactors, Philip Morris, and its requests that they lobby the New York City Council on the company’s behalf, the pas de deux of self- justification was so painstakingly choreographed that it constituted a performance all by itself.
