Vision
The vision of the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation is that talented young New Zealand singers and musicians with complete dedication to their art may receive judicious and thoughtful mentoring and support to assist them in realising their dreams.
The Foundation's mission is to establish, build and manage a trust fund to provide financial and career support to such talented New Zealanders. The first person to be awarded a grant under the trust was the young Dunedin born soprano Ana James.

Famous quotes containing the word vision:
“To me this world is all one continued vision of fancy or imagination, and I feel flattered when I am told so. What is it sets Homer, Virgil and Milton in so high a rank of art? Why is Bible more entertaining and instructive than any other book? Is it not because they are addressed to the imagination, which is spiritual sensation, and but mediately to the understanding or reason?”
—William Blake (17571827)
“Deep in the human heart
The fire of justice burns;
A vision of a world renewed
Through radical concern.”
—William L. Wallace (20th century)
“I have always fought for ideasuntil I learned that it isnt ideas but grief, struggle, and flashes of vision which enlighten.”
—Margaret Anderson (18861973)
