The single spawned a new phase of the Madchester era, where, unlike before, dance was the main focus instead of music. The music genre that included more of Bez's dancing was called "baggy". The genre of dancing fused with the improvised modern rock and electronica sound, influenced Paul Oakenfold to set out to Ibiza and start his own genre of music. This genre of music changed the way music was forever, as Oakenfold had now created club scenes all over the island, and with his own music being popular enough in Britain, he and Danny Rampling drew many teenagers from all over the world to the Balearic Islands. They started the influential genre Balearic Beat, which spawned many sub-genres, like acid house, chill out and kicked off many big rave nightclubs in the late 80's. The Ibiza scene is larger than it ever has been in the 2000's, even after the Madchester scene died down.
