It is the only secondary school in Knaresborough and serves the town and the surrounding villages. The current Headmaster is Carl Sugden. Due to the school expanding there became a shortage of locker areas, in order to solve this, the school recently decided to make all locker areas house locker areas. Ths was a change from the previous, one locker area per year group, meaning that all year groups were, consequently, mixed together. It is situated in the centre of the town on the main A59, next to the leisure pool. The population of Knaresborough (as well as the surronding villages) means that it is an oversubscribed school.
