Survivor
Three years later Mullen competed on Survivor: Palau, as a member of the ill-fated Ulong tribe. At first, she did not have any trouble in the game, being the star playing in the first challenge. Later, the lack of food and water brought about weakness and some of her tribe members accused her of being lazy. She received a stay of execution on two counts when Ashlee Ashby and Jeff Wilson left. Although the tribe managed to rebound from a considerable deficit, they still lost. Mullen was voted out. Mullen's fellow Palau castmate Janu Tornell had also previously competed at Miss USA, having held the title Miss Nevada USA 1989.
