After successfully completing the course, she took part in various theatre productions, including One Touch Of Venus at the King's Head in Islington. in which Sheridan Morley wrote "Playing Venus is Kim Medcalf, an actress here making her professional debut straight from drama school: It is the most impressive I have seen in a musical for many a long year"
