Career
Kim studied cinema in Seoul Institute of Arts. She made her debut in 1998 in Bye June directed by Choi Ho alongside Yoo Ji-tae. Later the duo would also star together in the Sci-fi romance film Ditto (2000). Kim also starred in SBS television series such as Happy Together (1999) and Piano (2001).
She was considered as the Queen of romantic-comedies because she starred in hit films including My Tutor Friend (2003) and My Girlfriend Is An Agent (2009).
In 2010, Kim starred opposite So Ji-sub as lovers in MBC war drama Road No. 1. This marks their first collaboration as actors following a professional shoot for a fashion brand.
In 2011, she won Best Actress at the Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Awards for her performance as a visually impaired woman in the serial killer thriller Blind. It was her first time winning the Best Actress honor in her 15-year career.
In 2012, Kim returned to the small screen as Seo Yi-soo, a high school ethics teacher, in the SBS weekend drama A Gentleman's Dignity with Jang Dong-gun, Kim Min-jong, Kim Soo-ro and Lee Jong-hyuk.
