About KilkennyMusic.com

Founded in 2005 by Ken McGuire, the group hold regular music events to raise awareness of music at a grass-roots level, working with bands and acts starting out in their musical careers, all the way up to seasoned performers and recording artists.

In 2006, the group launched the Sound System Podcast, showcasing material from Kilkenny and other Irish bands, and the One Take Sessions, a platform for local and visiting acts to work in a live music setup and have their performances professionally recorded and mixed with an appreciative audience.

The group now holds 4 active hosts in Ken McGuire, Alan Dawson, Ross Costigan and Michael Keogh.

The group's primary activities are split between working with bands in a live environment and working with bands in an online capacity, boasting an online community in the region of 1,00 members (KilkennyMusic.com, December 4, 2008), a sign of the times for music in Kilkenny, a city home to the likes of Kerbdog, My Little Funhouse, Kaydee, Engine alley, Wilt and more.

The group also provide one of the largest local photo archives of live music events that have taken place in Kilkenny since 2005.
