Kilby Bridge is a landmark hamlet on the A5199 Welford Road south of the city of Leicester in England.
There are three bridges that take the Welford Road:
- Over the River Sence
- Over the Grand Union Canal
- Under the Midland Main Line railway.
The commercial activities of the area include a canalside public house the Navigation Inn, and a car dealership.
Kilby Bridge forms part of the borough of Oadby and Wigston whose southernmost boundary in that area is the River Sence.
Famous quotes containing the word bridge:
“A circle swoop, and a quick parabola under the bridge arches
Where light pushes through;
A sudden turning upon itself of a thing in the air.
A dip to the water.”
