Kholodnohirsko-Zavodska Line - Stations

Stations

The Pivdennyi Vokzal station, one of the first stations opened on August 23, 1975. The Tsentralnyi Rynok station seen with the central pillars installed after its flooding in 1996.

Most of the stations on the line were constructed shallow near the surface, with exception to the Pivdennyi Vokzal and Radianska stations which were constructed deep underground due to the different elevations and hydrogeological conditions in those areas. Six of the shallow stations consist of a central platform and vaulted ceiling supported by five columns; the other five shallow stations have a single vaulted ceiling with no columns (with exception to Tsentralnyi Rynok). The two deep stations both consist of pylon trivaults, which are separated by arcades leading to the station platforms.

Famous quotes containing the word stations:

After I was married a year I remembered things like radio stations and forgot my husband.
    P. J. Wolfson, John L. Balderston (1899–1954)

    mourn

The majesty and burning of the child’s death.
    I shall not murder
The mankind of her going with a grave truth
Nor blaspheme down the stations of the breath
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

A reader who quarrels with postulates, who dislikes Hamlet because he does not believe that there are ghosts or that people speak in pentameters, clearly has no business in literature. He cannot distinguish fiction from fact, and belongs in the same category as the people who send cheques to radio stations for the relief of suffering heroines in soap operas.
    Northrop Frye (b. 1912)
