Commerce

Kaga is the main market town for the Khogyani district. Six miles south, water gurgles in irrigation channels. Fields of wheat and poppy push close. Famous quotes containing the word commerce:

It was you that broke the new wood,
Now is a time for carving.
We have one sap and one root—
Let there be commerce between us.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)

A mere literary man is a dull man; a man who is solely a man of business is a selfish man; but when literature and commerce are united, they make a respectable man.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

The Great Society is a place where every child can find knowledge to enrich his mind and to enlarge his talents.... It is a place where the city of man serves not only the needs of the body and the demands of commerce but the desire for beauty and the hunger for community.... It is a place where men are more concerned with the quality of their goals than the quantity of their goods.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
