As of 2001 India census, Kheta Sarai had a population of 16,228. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kheta Sarai has an average literacy rate of 50%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 59%, and female literacy is 40%. In Kheta Sarai, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
