Character Development
The characters of Kevin and Sally had a lack of storylines in their first years on the show but received a boost when Brian Park became executive producer. The Independent reports him as saying "Kevin and Sally Webster had years of washing their hands and eating baked beans on toast. Michael Le Vell and Sally Dynevor (then Whittaker) were then given great storylines, including his affair with Natalie, Sally's catfight with her when she found out and the subsequent divorce".

Famous quotes containing the words character and/or development:
“We now demand the light artillery of the intellect; we need the curt, the condensed, the pointed, the readily diffusedin place of the verbose, the detailed, the voluminous, the inaccessible. On the other hand, the lightness of the artillery should not degenerate into pop-gunneryby which term we may designate the character of the greater portion of the newspaper presstheir sole legitimate object being the discussion of ephemeral matters in an ephemeral manner.”
—Edgar Allan Poe (18091845)
“John B. Watson, the most influential child-rearing expert [of the 1920s], warned that doting mothers could retard the development of children,... Demonstrations of affection were therefore limited. If you must, kiss them once on the forehead when they say goodnight. Shake hands with them in the morning.”
—Sylvia Ann Hewitt (20th century)
